1 Sexy Boot

I would love to say that I successfully finished "7 Brides for 7 Brothers" without any major injury. I mean, I almost did, does that count? The first show of closing week, I rolled my foot when coming down from a lift/jump and instead of landing on the bottom of my foot like you're supposed to, I landed on the top of my foot. I wasn't about to let myself fall and ruin the show, so I made myself remain standing. No one in the audience could even tell anything had happened. Way to go me :)
The downside was that my entire weight landed on the top of my foot. Not good.

I finished that show and then did 3 more shows to finish up closing weekend. No one could tell I was injured during a show because I still did everything full out.

After it happened, my foot immediately swelled up and grew a huge goose egg. The next day, the bruise came out and now more than half of my foot is a very ugly greenish/brown/blue/black color.

Because Jeff loves me very much, he was so worried about me and he's making me take care of myself. So I went to a podiatrist to see what is actually wrong. Turns out I tore a couple ligaments in my foot, gave myself a Level 3 sprain, and possibly a stress fracture. I am stuck in a boot 24/7 for the the next few weeks. He says if I'm lucky, I might get to take it off for my wedding. Seriously, I could cry right now.

I Forgot

For the first time in my entire life (that I have memory of!) I forgot it was my birthday. If you know me really well, this probably is a shocker to you. But I have a countdown to something even better: my wedding to Jeff Brinton! It's been a while since I last posted, but Jeff proposed on November 3rd. I have never smiled so much in my life! My cheeks were burning! We're getting married January 8th in the LDS Mesa Temple.

So when I woke up on my birthday I was so wrapped up in wedding plans I completely forgot it was my birthday. My mom had to remind me! Instead of getting normal presents that day, I got my wedding dress :D Pretty good trade off, no?

My birthday actually lasted all weekend long. But my most favorite present of all was what Jeff gave me...my real ring! Yay!!!! He proposed with a ring from Walmart because my real ring wasn't in. I would have been so happy to just have that ring, but I love love LOVE my real ring. I still find myself testing the light in a room to see how it makes my ring sparkle :D hehe.

The wedding is in 5.5 weeks!! I am so excited to marry my best friend and the most amazing man I have ever known. I am the luckiest girl in the world. I get to be Mrs. Jeff Brinton. Mmmm I like the sound of that :D

I love you Jeff!

Another Marketing Post: Customer Service

Here's an excerpt from my latest marketing blog post.

3 Lessons of Great Customer Service – Home Depot
Let me share with you a recent encounter we had with Home Depot:

Background: We’ve lived in our house for 17 years now. It’s been through 5 kids and 4 grandkids and numerous other kids we probably didn’t even know. The poor carpet took the brunt of it all. When we decided to replace all of the carpet with beautiful carpet from Home Depot, we were thrilled! It was a lot of work getting ready for it, seeing as how nearly our entire upstairs is carpeted. It took an entire day but we finally got the carpet replaced. Oh the joy of walking barefooted on beautiful, soft, lush carpet!

The carpet and fumes smelt terrible, but we figured that would just go away right? I mean everything has a funny smell when it’s new, even babies. We opened every window and door in our house to air it out, but it didn’t go away and my entire family started getting sick. Our respiratory systems went haywire we couldn’t breathe properly or sleep and we had constant headaches. This has been going on for 4 weeks now.

We called Home Depot to let them know the problems we were having. We didn’t expect them to do anything actually but if there was a problem with this particular carpet or padding or glue they should be aware of it. However, we were pleasantly surprised at their response. In fact, we’ve been singing the praise of Home Depot’s customer service ever since.
